I am a licensed marriage family therapist here in North Carolina. My goal is to create a safe and inviting atmosphere that encourages reflection. In my opinion, counseling underscores the power of storytelling by offering insight into the human experience that is simultaneously redemptive and healing. Counseling offers the opportunity for an individual to cultivate a deeper self-awareness while exploring how world-views may have been influenced or shaped by past experiences. Through counseling your story can be explored, rewritten, and redirected.
My approach to clients is holistic and I enjoy integrating faith and spirituality into my work when clients so desire. Since 2011, I have worked with adults, adolescents, couples, and families on a variety of issues. In addition to my internship experiences as part of my graduate training, I also completed a two-year counseling residency at Forest Hill Church.
Prior to my residency, I spent ten years teaching at the high school level and two years working in undergraduate college admissions. I enjoy working with students as they navigate high school academics and the college application process. In addition to counseling, I offer one-on-one and small group tutoring and test prep.
Originally from the Midwest, I have called North Carolina home for over a decade. I have a passion for people and places. My husband and I enjoy traveling and are always excited for new adventures. We enjoy cooking together, watching college football in the fall, and spending time outdoors. During my free time I enjoy reading, working out, and connecting with friends and family.
